Attendance and Absence
Children who attend school regularly benefit from school routines and strategies, which in turn, supports them in making positive progress.
The success of our young people at Exeter House School depends on us all working together to support their education, and one of the ways that we can do this, is to promote excellent attendance at school.
We want to support your child’s attendance in school and recognise there are a range of reasons that your child maybe absent from school because of their complex needs including complex medical needs. Please contact our Family Support Worker Mikaela Judd on 01722 334168 Option 4 if you would like support with your child’s attendance at school.
Parents have a legal responsibility to ensure that children attend regularly and punctually, and that holidays in term time are avoided.
Please contact the school office if possible by 8.30 on the first and subsequent day of absence either by phone 01722 334168 or by email admin@exeterhouse.wilts.sch.uk. We do need to hear directly from you and not form the PA on the bus as to the reason your child is absent.
If do not hear from you by 9.30 we will phone you. If we do not manage to contact you we will phone your emergency contact numbers in order that we find out the reason for the absence by the end of the school day.
Please read our Attendance Policy for more information. Also please refer to our Illness Guidelines
If you wish to request a leave of absence please request a leave of absence form from the office 01722 334168 or by email admin@exeterhouse.wilts.sch.uk
